Screw Compressor
Screw compressors are the most commonly used air compressors in the UK for workshop and industrial usage. Their rotary technology offers efficiency, smooth running, reliability and low noise levels.
Rotary screw compressors are available in a range of sizes and with a range of options. Some of the common options we offer with our screw compressors are:-
- Air receiver
A storage tank used as a buffer to allow for fluctuations in compressed air usage. Almost all applications benefit from a receiver being placed between the compressor and compressed air outlets.
- Refrigeration dryers
To remove moisture in the compressed air which could reform in to droplets at the point of use. These can be supplied as a separate unit or built in to the compressor itself.
- Line filters
To remove contaminates such as oil, dust and silicon. Our comprehensive range of line filters can remove particles down to 0.01 micron to meet ISO8573 2.4.2 standards.
- Desiccant dryers
Used in many process industries and breathing air applications to provide dewpoints as low as minus sixty degrees centigrade. With a well designed filter and desiccant system we can provide the highest possible quality of compressed air.
- Heat recovery systems
Compressors generate a large amount of heat which can be ducted into workspace to reduce heating bills. Larger water cooled systems can also be used to provide water heating.
- Control Systems
BMS modules and lead/standby systems can be fitted to control single or multiple compressor systems. We can offer fault monitoring, pressure readouts and remote start stop facilities.

Sizing an air compressor
It is too common in UK industry to see oversized compressors used as the main lead machine. The energy wastage can be extreme, we have seen on numerous occasions situations where energy bills have been reduced by more than £10,000 per annum by installing a more suitable compressor. It is best to talk to an expert when sizing any compressor and our advice is free. Contact us to discuss your requirements. |
